Tackle Football - Fall 2023

Registration:  Fee: $100.00. financial assistance available via everykidsports.org

Registration period: March 1, 2023- May 31, 2023. Late registration ends June 7, 2023. 

Eligible Grades: 2nd -6th grade. Register for grade as of 2023-2024 school year. Players must: Attend a MISD School, be McKinney Resident Home Schooled, or be a McKinney resident Frisco/Allen ISD student.

Length of Season: 8 regular season games + End of Season single elimination tournament. Regular season begins the last Saturday in August.  All games on Saturdays, unless rescheduled due to weather.

Refunds:  There will be no refunds after July 31, 2023. Refund requests are subject to a $25 fee.  All refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to:  mckinneysportsconnection@gmail.com.

Practice:  Will be determined at the discretion of the head coach. Players cannot change teams due to scheduling conflicts.

Uniforms & Equipment:  Uniforms and equipment are NOT included in the registration fee.  Ordering information will be determined and handled by the head coach. Uniforms are typically non-refundable.

Requests:  Players are assigned to teams based on grade and school district zoning for the 2023-2024 academic school year.

Team Formation: All efforts will be made to ensure future McKinney Lions, Bulldogs, and Broncos play together on the same team. Teams may combine or split as each team’s roster size dictates.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • When will the Head Coach contact me?: Rostering begins 5/27/23. Head Coaches will contact players and parents between May 27th and June 10th.
  • What team will I be on?: Players are placed on teams based on their zoned high school. Teams may merge based on enrollment counts per team.
  • When is practice?: Practice days, times, and locations are determined by the Volunteer Head Coach. 4 days per week pre-season. 3 days per week during the season.
  • What equipment do I have to buy?: Helmet, shoulder pads, cleats, gloves, mouthpieces, practice uniform, and game uniform are required to participate. The Head Coach organizes the uniform purchase for the team.
  • What are the playing time rules?: The Head Coach determines playing time. Our goal is to develop each player and prepare them for Middle School and High School football.
